Dear Science in School readers, Have you recently visited a science museum with your school students? Would you recommend it to other teachers, either local or from other countries? What was particularly good about the visit? Please include the name, town, country and (if possible) website of the museum. Eleanor Hayes (Editor of Science in School)

Highly recommended science center in Norway
Tue, 2010-01-26 15:16 — FredeVilvite (Want-to-know) is the newest, most modern and interactive of Norway's science centers. Situated in Bergen, the center focuses on the oil and gas industry, weather and climate, and energy. Bergen and Western Norway are main exporters of energy to the European market.
At the School Science Center at Bergen University we work continuosly to eleborate the use of Vilvite, other Science centers, museum and more unusual scenes of education.

Science museums to visit with school classes
Tue, 2009-12-01 02:53 — edhartwHi,
I know that this post was quite old already but I just would like to share something about my experiences in science museums. I am a high school art teacher in one of the schools here in South Dakota. I would strongly recommend having a science museums to other teachers. My students learned a lot from the visits like knowing the settlement and development of the Dakota Prairie through educational programs, art shows, and historic exhibits. Artifacts relevant to Brown County South Dakota, photograph collection, archives, large collection of period clothing dating from late 1880s, some Native American items.
